Without a Song, the road would never bend

Without a Song
Travel Tunes is inspired by James Corden's Carpool Karaoke antics and customized for RV travel. What is different for us is that we won't have celebrities popping in to sing along. No Lady Gaga, no Michelle O'Bama, no Elton John. The logistics of traveling down the highway on six Michelin tires in a 40-foot motor home just don't lend themselves to celebs popping in. But, here's a thought. Maybe we could get the toll booth operator, or a park ranger or two to join us and belt out a tune. Hmmm. We'll have to work on that. I will keep you posted.
The songs we have picked tie into the venue and location that we are highlighting in the blog. Read our blog about visiting the new brewery in Massachusetts. It includes a drinking song familiar to most. I'm sure you know the words. (LINK)
Let us sing again, and again. Let us sing again, and again. Let us sing again, and again.
As a universe, we sing because it brings people together. Plain and simple. Everybody joins in on the chorus. Every branch of the military has a song. We sing for our countries and our sports teams. Where would organized religion be without hymns, chants, and choirs? Newborn babies are lulled to sleep and introduced to the world through lullabies sung by their mothers.
Throughout history, from the cotton fields to the steel mills, workers break into song to bring camaraderie and make the day go by a little faster. Celebrations and protest marches have everybody joining in song. Woodstock. Birthdays. We Shall Overcome.
Singing has been with us since the dawn of time. Even the cave men possibly grunted out a few melodies. How many of us can chime in with the March of the Monkeys chant from the Wizard of Oz movie, "O-Ee-Yah! Eoh-Ah!"? In our culture, singing is the number one form of entertainment. There are too many categories to name where music carries the message. Where would opera and Broadway be without arias and show tunes? Rock, pop, rap, love songs. Where would the world be without love songs?
Hey, hey. And we'll have no judgment from any arm chair voice coaches or choir directors. Each Travel Tunes video will have its little bit of awful, but you just have to deal with it.
As we develop Travel Tunes, 3happy campers would love your input. Suggestions are welcome. Send your tunes to email@example.com. Take a moment to like our blog page at 3happycampers.com. Then, sing along!
